Pit bikes are a form of motorcycle designed for use in pits or motocross race, dirt bike or pit bike racing tracks. Typically, a pit bike is much smaller (and lighter) than traditional motorcycles (or motorbikes). Pit bikes achieved popularity in the early 2000’s and since then a large range of bikes with differing specifications (particularly engines). Many pit bike racers customise their bikes, changing tyres, engines and customising the graphics on the chassis of the bike.
